Maritime Security Awareness Training
Full Day Course (0800 – 1600)
This course involves the skills and knowledge required to follow maritime security procedures in accordance with own role and responsibilities under Australian security requirements and regulations and the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code).
This includes being aware of and assessing situations involving threats to the security and safety of a vessel or port facility, reporting threats or suspicious situations, and carrying out workplace tasks in accordance with security procedures and related regulatory requirements.
Course Objectives:
- Maintain basic awareness of potential security risks and situations
- Assess a security incident and take appropriate action to report and rectify the situation
- Set priorities and manage security aspects of work tasks Work with others in the maintenance of vessel and port security
- Communicate effectively with others on security issues related to work role and functions
